Microbial Terrorism also known as Bioterrorism is terrorism involving the targeted release or dissemination of biological agents. These agents are bacteria, viruses, fungi, or toxins, and may be in a naturally occurring or a human-modified form, in much the same way in biological warfare.

The most well-known attack of bioterrorism in the present century is that by the anthrax spores in New York in October 2001. Microorganisms act as good weapons since their mass production from a single cell is easy without much skill and infrastructure in comparison to the devastation and disease they cause.
